Role Overview
The Legal Counsel – Philippines provides legal support to the Company’s in-house legal
team, with a focus on local legal matters, vendor and supplier contract review,
purchase orders, client NDAs, and employment-related legal support. This role
works under the guidance of senior in-house counsel and supports day-to-day legal
operations related to Philippine-based and regional activities.
This position is a supporting legal role and does not serve as the primary legal
authority for the region.

Key Responsibilities
Local Legal Support
- Provide legal support on Philippines-specific legal matters under the guidance of in-house counsel.
- Assist with interpretation and application of local laws relevant to business operations.
- Escalate complex, high-risk, or non-standard matters to in-house counsel as appropriate.
- Review and support negotiation of: vendor and supplier agreements, Purchase orders and procurement-related documents, Client NDAs and other standard commercial agreements
- Identify legal and commercial risks and recommend appropriate mitigations.
- Support coordination of contract execution and internal approvals.
- Assist the Human Resources team with local employment law matters, under the guidance of in-house counsel.
- Provide legal support related to: Employment contracts and amendments, Disciplinary actions and employee relations matters, Terminations, separations, and compliance with local labor laws
- Support review of HR policies and procedures for alignment with Philippine labor requirements.
- Escalate sensitive, high-risk, or complex employment matters to in-house counsel.
- Work closely with HR, Procurement, Finance, Operations, Compliance, and other internal teams.
- Respond to routine legal inquiries related to local operations.
- Coordinate with external counsel when specialized legal support is required.
- Support legal documentation, filing, and record-keeping.
- Assist with compliance-related documentation and internal legal reviews as requested.
- Contribute to standardization and continuous improvement of local legal workflows.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB or equivalent).
- Member of the Philippine Bar in good standing.
- Three (3) to seven (7) years of experience in corporate legal, law firm, or in- house roles.
- Experience reviewing commercial contracts, NDAs, and employment-related documents.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with global legal and HR teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting BPO, shared services, or multinational organizations.
- Familiarity with Philippine labor law and HR practices.
- Experience supporting vendor management and procurement processes.
- Exposure to compliance, data privacy, or corporate governance support.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

- Supports in-house legal counsel and global legal leadership
- Assists HR with employment-related legal matters but does not replace HR ownership
- Does not act as Head of Legal or regional legal authority
- Does not independently manage litigation or regulatory representation
- Does not set global legal or compliance strategy
